Recreation Technician

Assists the Supervisor in promoting, organizing, coordinating, scheduling, and supervising various recreation programs and activities. Opens and closes Center. Helps maintain the general appearance of the facility. Maintains statistical records and reports. May be required to work special events on request (some events may be scheduled on weekends). Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor or Recreation Superintendent. May be required to work at other Recreation Centers, if needed. Two-year college degree in recreation, physical education, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Salary: $15.95 per hour

Shift: Hours vary. Must be able to work a minimum of 25-30 hours per week

Lifeguard Leader

Responsible for teaching swim lessons, swim team, and lifeguarding. Accountable for the safety and health of all patrons and enforcement of all facility and agency regulations and policies; assist in overseeing lifeguard staff, pool operations, safety, and facility cleanliness. Must possess and maintain a current American Red Cross Certification and the Water Safety Instructor Certification required for this position. Lifeguard II will be expected to teach swim lessons and coach the swim team.

Salary: $14.52 per hour

Admin Technician II

Salary: $36,160.49 per year

Answers telephone and routes calls/work orders over a two-way radio system. Performs routine and moderately complex clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, and public contact duties for the Young Family Athletic Center. Processes transactions and provides services to the public related to Young Family Athletic Center programs. Responsible for administering Community Service Program. Provides general information and assistance to the public regarding department services/operations. Type’s correspondence, forms, notices, and reports. Maintains filing and record-keeping systems. Calculates, verifies, tabulates, posts, receipts, and processes monies. Photocopies and facsimiles of a variety of documents. Receives, date stamps, sorts, and distributes incoming mail. Represents the department in a courteous, tactful, and helpful manner. Work is required on several outdoor Community events, some occurring on holidays. Performs other related work as required.

Recreation Leader I 

Salary: $14.52 per hour

Job Type: Permanent Part Time
Shift: Hours vary Monday through Friday during the school year (August–May). Hours vary during the summer. Works 15-20 hours per week during the school year and 30-38 hours a week during the summer. Will be required to work special events when needed.

Recreation Center Specialist

Salary: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour

Job Type: Part Time
Shift: 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year, September – May (average 15-18 hours per week). 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Mon through Fri during the summer, May-August (average 30-35 hours per week)

Lifeguard Technician

Enforce facility regulations and policies, ensuring that pool operations are safe and maintaining a clean and organized facility. Must possess and maintain a current American Red Cross certification. Provide lifeguarding, life safety support, and excellent customer service to all facility patrons. Must keep concentrated observation of swimmers to anticipate any problems that may arise. They are also responsible for enforcing all policies and regulations and participating in regular in-service training to stay updated with the latest techniques and best practices.
